Salmon House on the Hill @ West Vancouver
Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 4.5/5 Price: Avg. $70/person
The weather was very beautiful and we had a great day at the Deep Cove Park. We had a nice long walk in the afternoon then we decided to go Salmon House on the Hill for dinner! Price is on the high side but the visit was totally worth it, highly recommended to go for special occasions. I fall in love the breath taking views of Downtown Vancouver, it was very beautiful to see the sunset in the patio. The environment was very relaxing with the authentic local artisan decor. The atmosphere was amazing to have this romantic and delicious meal with hubby 😍😍😍. LOL.
Home Made Bread @ $3
Smoked wild salmon butter
The home made bread came with two butters, regular and salmon butters. The smoked wild salmon butter was like pate style, creamy and easy spreading. It was very delicious with the fresh bread!
Salmon House Sampling @ $19
Seared scallop & candied salmon
Togarashi albacore tuna sashimi & sherry dijon vinaigrette
Prawn springroll, apple & mango slaw
I think I forgot to take pictures of the scallop and candied salmon, probably I was too hungry! The seared scallop was very delicious, it was cooked perfectly! The salmon was a little bit dry so it was not as good as I expected from the name of the restaurant! The tuna sashimi and spring roll were good too.
Saltspring mussels @ $14
Tomato lime coconut broth, kennebec fries & lemon mayo
Love it! Mussels were fresh and the broth was interesting. It has a taste of Asian recipes like Thai broth, very delicious to match with the fries!
Duck Confit @ $13
Mango & apple salad, maple balsamic, orange parsley vinaigrette
The duck confit was good too but I prefer their seafood dishes more!
Alder grilled haida gwaii smoked sable fish @ $35
Saute of red peppers, chickpea, pancetta bacon, baby kale, pumkin seed basil pesto & fried calamari
The smoked sable fish was cooked perfectly with the amazing flavors and texture! The fish was fresh, rich and amazing flavors, perfect to pair with the veggies on the side.
Baked cheesecake raviolis @ $12
Fillo wrapped cheese cake, sour cherry, compote & vanilla gelato
Happy sweet ending with the beautiful dessert! The baked cheesecake ravilois was half melted and warm, it was super delicious to eat with the ice cream! The sour cherry and compote tasted great over the ice cream and cheesecake.
Good food, friendly service with the stunning view of Vancouver, it's a good spot to go for dinner in the wonderful summer!
