604 Just Eat: Teochew Cuisine @ JC Kitchen Chiuchow Flair [潮味館]

Apr. 8th, 2015

JC Kitchen Chiuchow Flair [潮味館] @ Richmond

Food:  3.5/5   Service:  3.5/5   Atmosphere:  3/5   Price: Avg. $25/person

JC Kitchen is a small Chinese restaurant specialized in authentic Chiu Chow cuisine located in the industrial area near No. 6 and Steveston highway.  We came here for lunch few weeks ago and food were delicious!  We came back again with my dad for dinner in order to try more Chiu Chow dishes. It was definitely worth to it!  I forgot to take pictures of the menu so I cannot record the dish price this time.  Probably I was too hungry!

604 Just Eat: Teochew Cuisine @ JC Kitchen Chiuchow Flair [潮味館]

JC Kitchen Chiuchow Flair [潮味館] @ Richmond

Food:  3.5/5   Service:  3.5/5   Atmosphere:  3/5   Price: 2/5

JC Kitchen is located in the industrial area near No. 6 and Steveston highway.  We spent quite some time to find it.  Honestly, the overall image outside was like one of those typical Chinese restaurant that serve wonton soup and sweet and soup pork chop.  My fault!  Luckily, we did not drive away and give it a try.  It was definitely worth to come for some authentic Chiu Chow food.

Chiu Chow Ho-Fen with Seaweed and Fishballs @ $8.80

Very flavorful broth with lots of bean sprouts, seaweed and minced pork with the touches of dried fish and roasted garlic.  Lovely!
Fishball was mild flavor and okay fresh.

Hand pulled Noodles with Pork Tripe, Salted Vegetables and Pepper @ $8.50
It was so good and delicious!
The broth was richer than I thought!
I like the hand pulled noodles texture over the Ho-Fen.

I enjoyed my noodles a lot and I will definitely come back again for dinner to try more authentic Chiu Chow dishes.

Singapore Trip Day 1: Dinner @ Li Xin Teochew Fish Ball Noodles

Jan. 6, 2015

I was highly amused by all the local street food places and food centers that we visited.  With so many food choices in Singapore, my big tip is always join the long queues!!!

Li Xin Teochew Fish Ball Noodles [立兴潮州鱼圆面] @  ION Shopping mall

 Food:  4/5   Service:  2/5   Atmosphere:  2/5   Price:  2/5

We went to ION on orchard for the fish ball dry noodles.  Heard the fish balls in Li Xin were handmade twice a day and made from yellowtail.

6 big fish balls!!  Very rich fish flavor and just about right texture.

The magic is the mix sauce, pretty sweet and a bit spicy.  Good mix with the noodles.
