Sunny Sunday brunch, LOVELY! Finally came here to check out La Foret in this hidden location at Burnaby, previously was a auto repair shop.  The cafe is very spacious with high ceiling, earthy and greenery setting with interesting decoration in different elements like rocks, cements, woods and plants.

July 31st, 2016

London Heritage Farm Tea Room @ Steveston

Food:  3.5/5   Service:  4/5   Atmosphere: 4/5   Price:  Avg. $ 14/person

Girlfriends tea time talking over a cup of tea and baked sweets, we had a wonderful time at London Heritage Farm Tea Room on Dyke road in Steveston area.  This little gem is a historical site from the 1800's, a preserved wooden farm house with two stories.  Fall in love with this classic and vintage decor and atmosphere!  We really enjoyed the beautiful afternoon in the tea room with the tea, baked sweets and wonderful service here!

PappaRoti @ West End

Food:  4/5   Service:  3.5/5   Atmosphere:  4/5   Price:  Avg. $10 person

We wanted to pick a café for desserts after dinner near home.  Hubby suggested to go PappaRoti on Robson street.  I was delighted by the relaxing environment and the sweet aroma of the baked coffee buns in the air!   We came here for the bun and they did not disappoint me.  The sweet bun was hot, fresh and delicious!

604 Just Eat: Japanese Style Cafe @ Basho Cafe

Mar. 7th, 2015

Basho Café @ East Village

Food:  4/5   Service:  3.5/5   Atmosphere:  4/5   Price:  2.5/5

LIKE LIKE LIKE!!! Finally we made it!
I have been dying to come here for a long time.  I heard lots of good comments and reviews about this smoking popular café and I know the reason why now!
How can I not love this adorable cute little café?
I love the warm hearted and homey atmosphere and the adorable theme setting!!!

It's incredibly cute!!!  It's all hand made here, not only the food!

We ordered the Tuna Tataki with Salad + Pulled Pork with Salad Lunch Sets
The sets come with soup, baked mini sweets and tea.

Tuna Tataki with Salad
Fresh tuna was lightly seared in a perfect texture.  It was amazing good and delicious to eat with the ginger ponzu sauce.  The ginger ponzu sauce was light and refreshing which made the fish and salad very flavorful and great delight.

Pulled Pork with Salad
Teriyaki pulled pork was tender and tasty, not greasy at all.  I regretted that I should order the option of rice bowl instead.  It must be heavenly good!

Matcha Latte [Left] & Matcha Mocha [Right]
The matcha latte is unsweetened, very Japanese matcha flavor unlike those green tea latte you can have at Starxxxks. It was wonderful to sip my bowl of matcha after a full meal!
My husband likes the matcha mocha more than the latte.  It was creamy and blended perfectly with the hints of nice coffee flavor.

Japanese baked Sweets
The lunch set comes with 3 mini sweets but my eyes cannot leave the shelves...

Therefore, Dah Dah~~~I bought assorted baked goods home to satisfy my sweet tooth.  I like the "Mochi Mochi" cakes the best!  Matcha muffin and cookies are good too!

Mochi Mochi Red Bean
Look the mochi inside!!
My Top Favorite:  Mochi Mochi Matcha
OMG delicious!!!  The mochi inside was so spongy and chewy. This moist cake was just about right to enhance the matcha flavor.

*Absolutely fall in love with Basho and I cannot wait to come visit again.
Love the simple delicious meals, drinks and baked goods here.  I can tell the owners have contributed lots of love, time and efforts on processing and cooking.  Thumbs up!

Singapore Trip Day 3: Breakfast @ Coffee Hut [咖啡姐茶軒]

Jan. 8th, 2015

Coffee Hut [咖啡姐茶軒] @ Berseh Food Center

Food:  4/5   Service:  3/5   Atmosphere:  3/5   Price:  1/5

Coffee Hut has the great reputation of having one of the best coffee [Kopi O] in Singapore.  We came here to enjoy the coffee and also their famous toast bread for breakfast.  They made their own kaya and peanut butter sauce which can be spread over the toast bread.  They were absolutely pleasant and delicious so we actually came again on our last day in Singapore before leaving!
Very clean and tidy, efficient service.

Flavorful Kopi O!  Very thick coffee and nice coffee bean aroma.

This is one of the best coffee I have tried.

Perfect soft boiled eggs.

Perfect Combo!

Kaya Toast Butter Bread with Half Boiled Eggs [Set A]
The toast was thin, so light and crispy.  OMG delicious to eat with their homemade kaya sauce and  a piece of butter.

Kaya French Toast Bread [Set D]
The French toast had perfect texture!  Light crispy outside and sealed with eggs whilst inside was so soft and fluffy.  Tasted heavenly good to spread the kaya sauce and butter all over the toast.
