Au Petit Café @ Riley Park & Little Mountain
Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Price: Avg. $15person
Au Petit Café is a small and causal Vietnamese café besides Long's Noodle House on Main street. Long wait is expected during weekend peak hours. The wait ended up taking a while. There were a lot of people waiting outside and we could not tell they were awaiting for Long's or Au petit Café! I just realize that I forgot to take a snapshot of my no. 1 house special Banh Mi (Vietnam Sandwich). Probably I was too hungry after the long wait. It was so fresh and delicious!!! At last, it is highly recommended to go Au petit Café for Vietnamese sub sandwich where you can get the best in town! You can't go wrong!!!
MUST EAT: BANH MI DAC BIET
MUST EAT: BANH MI DAC BIET
Let it Pho~ Let it Pho~~~ I know pho is not the best pick at Au Petit but I still wanted to give it a try. The broth was piping hot, and it tasted different from the standard pho. It was not the rich beefy kind of broth or greasy type, the taste got a hint of sweetness and herbal taste, traditional Vietnam home made soup. Delicious! The large bowl was not the typical large size at other Vietnamese joints. it looked like a regular portion to me. Beef quality was okay, but not outstanding. Perhaps this is one of the reasons, it is not the first pick here.
Steamed Rice Pastes Topped with Mashed Green Bean, Shredded Pork, Shrimp Bits, Green Onions and Fish Sauce @ $8.25
This dish of steamed rice pastes is only available during weekend. It was delicous! I did not know how to describe the distinctive taste; it was the taste of authentic Vietnamese!
Side Order: Meat Ball @ $3.00
Although I am not a meat lover, this meat ball was interesting to me! The meat was tender and flavorful; almost melted in mouth. It looked more like Chinese style meat ball.
Dark French Coffee Served with Condensed Milk @ $3.75
Very pleasant aroma and tasted like very rich unsweetened cocoa. The sweetness was not strong; only hint of sweet. It was so good! Thumbs up!
I wouldn't mind facing line up for delicious food. The wait was definitely worth it! Thumbs up for the dishes we picked!! I will be back for sure for the Vietnamese sub sandwich. For those of you do not want the long wait, you can phone in to order take out for self pick up.
