Anh and Chi @ East Vancouver
Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Price: Avg. $23 person
Anh and Chi was previously Pho Hoang on Main Street, revamped head to toe after the second generation took over. Not only the menu, they have transformed the restaurant into a modern and vibrant Vietnamese Cuisine successfully. Food was pretty good and well presented, we could see all the delicate decor and details they have input into the restaurant from the table setting, motorbike in the center of the restaurant to the fancy rose gold bathrooms.
Price wise it was above the average, but you do get what you pay for when the owners bring the restaurant into a higher level.
We were interested the cocktail menu so we picked two to try, standard quality, not bad!
Banh Mi @ $6
Choice of grilled chicken or grilled pork or house made pate. Loaded with fresh cucumber, green onion, cilantro, chili, picked carrots and daikon and house made garlic aioli
Yummy!!! Not sure the baguette was house baked or not but the house made garlic aioli was so good and traditional. I dislike Banh Mi with sweet and sour sauce in it.
Sai Gon @ $4
Choice of Prawn or grilled pork or grilled chicken. Lettuce, bean sprouts, rice vermicelli & mint. Served with peanut sauce
The ingredients were really fresh.
Pho Hoang @ $10
Sliced beef sirloin, brisket, tripe, tendon and meatballs. Served with fresh bean sprouts, time and chili
Good Pho like the old days! The broth was so rich and flavorful. Meat was okay. Too bad there is only one pho selection on the menu.
Banh Chuoi Nuong @ $8
French baguette and native Vietnamese bananas, layered, baked and served with warm Cognac coconut milk
Very interesting Vietnamese dessert!

Clean and neat environment. Lovely to spend the lunch date with my hubby on a sunny Sunday.
