Felicos Restaurant @ Central Richmond
Food: 3/5 Service: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Price: Avg. $45/person
Felicos is an authentic Greek restaurant located on Leslie road in central Richmond. We went there for dinner with a group of 9 to celebrate a friend's birthday. I have not been here for ages so the décor and menu were new to me. I was quite excited the wide selection of Greek and Mediterranean dishes on the menu. It is a fine dine setting with pretty classy décor. There was belly dancing performance during the dinner session, interesting! Prices are on the high side too so my expectation was quite high.
We order some appetizers to share then entrées of our own choices.
Black tiger prawns stuffed with crab and cream cheese baked in garlic butter
My favorite appy among the dishes we ordered. Prawns were fresh and stuffed with lots of crab meats in the rich cream cheese; very creamy and garlicky. Delicious!
Golden brown crab cakes served on top of roasted red pepper pesto sauce
Round shape crab cakes deep fried in golden brown color. It was okay but not the crispy batter that I like.

Steamed in garlic, sautéed onions, tomatoes, cilantro, white wine
Steamed mussels were standard flavor; the mussels were relatively smaller than average size.

Kalararia @ $11.95
Deep fried squid, satziki dip
Light and crispy deep fried squid; the dish was not greasy at all. Squid was fresh with light seasoning; very flavorful and fantastic texture to eat with the dip!

Hubby and I ordered the dinner features; included entrée, choice of soup and Greek salad.
Two pieces of wild halibut coated in our house made beer batter, served with fries and tartar sauce.
Big surprise; the halibut was deep fried perfectly. The beer batter was light and crispy.
Tender boneless pieces of lamb sautéed in red wine with savory spices, served with rice, roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
The boneless lamb stew portion was large and the meat was very tender in the very rich red wine sauce. Taste was a lil salty so I got to eat the lamb meat with the rice.

Overall the food quality was standard but not impressive except the deep fried dishes. Portion wise it was generous; taste wise I would expect more than standard in this price range. Perhaps we would not come back in a short time.
