Blowfish Sushi and Japanese Food @ East Vancouver

Blowfish is a small Japanese restaurant near PNE on East Hastings. We were wandering and looking for dinner place after I picked up Hubby from work. Hubby wanted to eat something light and not oily; therefore, we decided to look for sushi place near the area by Zomato. We searched and found Blowfish with pretty high rating so we decided to give it a try. Blowfish is a small Japanese restaurant near PNE area. From the raving reviews, Blowfish is a sushi joint offering different kinds of delicious rolls at a very good economy price range. However, all tables were emptied when we walked in at 8ish. Hm... turned out we saw lots of people came in to pick up their sushi orders. LOL.
Pressed saba, topped with jalapeno and signature sauce
Flame-seared Saba pressed sushi, my all time favorite! I always order it when I read it on the menu especially on the first visit of the sushi joints. Not many sushi joints offer delicious saba in town. The saba was good but the rice texture was no good. It was not sticky enough to hold the shape when picking sushi by chopsticks. However, the size of the roll was smaller than my expectation at 12 dollars. The saba shima sushi @ guu garden was better deal and still my no.1 favorite.

Above average; neigitoro was fresh.
Sashimi were good and we prefer nigiri over rolls here. Scallop was the best overall.
Good qualities at the reasonable price range with attentive service. The portions of the rolls we ordered were relatively small at the prices. Nigiri sushi pricing range were better deals compared with the rolls.
