604 Just Eat: Seafood @ Steveston Seafood House

May 6th, 2016

Steveston Seafood House @ Steveston

Food:  3/5   Service:  3/5   Atmosphere:  3/5   Price:  Avg. $45 person

We liked to have dinner in somewhere around us, so we picked Steveston village.  Actually there are not much choices in Richmond anyways.  On the internet, there are both positive and negative reviews at Steveston Seafood House; so we decided to give it a try.  Overall the dishes were okay, nothing special though nothing bad.  Service was good and attentive.  Prices are on the high side when the dishes were quite ordinary.

The bread was fresh and good!

Our Famous Appetizer Platter @ $15 per person
Interesting platter presentation, good portions for 3 of us.

Albacore tuna tartare - Back Left
The tuna looked not so fresh and tasted bland.  It was served on top of the deep-fried nori.  The deep-fried nori was light and crispy, added an interesting texture to the tartare.

Qualicum Bay scallops wrapped in dopuble smoked bacon - Front Left
Overcooked, a bit dry and rubbery texture.

Mandarin orange and lime sauteed tiger prawns - Back Right
Delicious!  The prawns were fresh and cooked perfectly.  The sauce was very refreshing and tasty, tasted of herbs, lemon/citrus flavors.

Smoked salmon and goat cheese timbale - Front Right
Average.

Seafood Linguine @ $27
Mussels, seared scallops & prawns with arugula, white wine, olive oil & heirloom tomatoes
Taste was good but ordinary, cannot go wrong with it.

Schntizel Richmond @ $26
Breaded pork topped with crab, shrimp and sauce bearnaise
The meat was juicy and delicious coated with the crisp crust.  Seafood toppings were good too.

I think I'll probably come back once more to try other dishes, maybe the dishes we picked were not the best of them on the menu.
