604 Just Eat: Canadian/French Cuisine @ Tapenade Bistro

Jul 3rd, 2015

Tapenade Bistro @ Steveston

Food:  3/5   Service:  3.5/5   Atmosphere:  4/5   Price:  Avg. $25person

Tapenade Bistro, one of the great spot restaurant in Steveston Village.  Patio were filled as expected when we go there.  We seated inside instead.  O well, that is summer in Vancouver!  Nice sun weather with seabreeze here.  Simple menu with good varieties.  They serve locally sourced seafood and seasonal ingredients.  What a wonderful day to enjoy a glass of wine here with good friends on a Friday night.

We were not too hungry after work so we wanted light dinner instead.  We ordered few dishes of appys to share with our bottle of wine.

      Complimentary Bread
Arrrh.....4 pieces of TINY bread for 4 of us.  OMG!  The server told us we can refill the bread anytime.  O well...

Beet Salad @ $12
Roasted beet, goat cheese, pomegranate, smoked hazelnut vinaigrette
Taste was ok but too sour to me.

 Octopus @ $15
Grilled Vancouver Island octopus, capicola, fingerling potato salad, carrot & citrus emulsion, pickled mustard seeds
The grilled octopus was refreshing!

Salish Sea Mussels - Main @ $22
Local fresh plump mussels, comes with frittes
Regular medium size mussels were fresh and the sauce was delicious!  The Fries was okay but portion was lil bit small.

Food quality was fairly good.  Service was good and attentive.  I like the relaxing and causal atmosphere here; great spot to have some good chat and quality time with friends and family.  Next time I would probably come back for Happy Hour @ 4-6!  Cheers~
